Daffodils Dreams C.I.C - Ibiza Ball 2022

Our CEO Mike and Office Manager Leanne had the pleasure of presenting a cheque at Believe Square in Wigan town centre to Maureen Holcroft, founder of Daffodils Dreams, with funds raised from our charity Ibiza Ball in October.

Daffodils Dreams C.I.C. is passionate about creating opportunities for children and their families in the Wigan Borough, who are living in hardship, and great to support such a fantastic charity within our borough and make a difference to families lives.

We would like to thank Wigan College, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Hospital and Wigan Council for their continued support. Brilliant to see Wigan and Leigh companies reaching out to our communities most vulnerable, Wigan working together as one.

Toy Appeal & Food Hampers - Christmas 2021

During the Christmas period of 2021 the Greenmount team have once again been very busy collecting toys from our staff and suppliers. Our aim was to match the previous years donation of 250 presents to be delivered to the families of Wigan and Leigh.

Bringing together Wigan & Leigh College, Wigan Youth Zone, on Christmas Eve we also delivered over 100 food hampers to those less fortunate. We believe everyone deserves to have a full meal on christmas day and this year we tried to reach as many families as possible to make this happen.

WYZ Cabin Donation

We have recently donated a 40ft long container for the local Council to use at Wigan Youth Zone in aid of continuing their programme. Wigan Councils service assists at risk youths achieve their potential, be more confident and resilient and have a dedicated support network to help them make positive changes in their lives.

When the world reopened following COVID 19, Wigan Council were no longer able to continue their service at Wigan Youth Zone. Of course, when the Youth Zone contacted us, we were more than willing to help!

The container is now a workshop room, where children and young people will develop new practical skills, such as building garden planters, birdboxes and refurbish community benches: all of which will benefit the local community.

Wigan Cricket Club Sponsorship

Greenmount are proud to announce we have become the main sponsor for Wigan Cricket Club's Junior Section. The company will be working alongside Wigan Cricket Club to assist them in creating a brilliant arena for the coaches and volunteers, hopefully we will see England's future team nurturing their skills in the coming days.

Wigan Cricket Club -

Our focus to become a ‘Community Club’ is fully shared by Greenmount Projects: we thank Mike Sharkey and his team for placing their faith in our ability and desire to deliver access to children of all ages, to participate in cricket and by extension, other sporting activities at Wigan Sports Club.

WYZ Toy Appeal 2020

During Christmas, the Greenmount team asked our supply chain to provide toys instead of the usual bottles/items they would normally gift. The aim was to collect 100 presents for the WYZ toy appeal. Very generously we were gifted with over 250 toys, for both boys and girls of all ages!

To contribute to the cause, the Greenmount MD also donated a new mountain bike.

The toy drive is a great example of what can happen when businesses pull together to support the community.

Wigan Youth Zone Easter Delivery

In conjunction with Wigan Youth Zone, Greenmount Projects undertook a 5k challenge around Wigan's 'Jewel in the Crown' Haigh Woodland Park. The team completed the run individually and received generous donations from their family and friends.

Being distributed by the Youth Zone to the young people of Wigan, the money raised allowed team Greenmount to deliver over 100 Easter eggs. At Greenmount, we are focused on fundraising for our young people and believe it's important to keep a strong bond with the members of your community and help out wherever possible.

Optimum Sport

Greenmount Projects are now in partnership with Optimum Sport to provide teamwear for local sports clubs. The partnership will allow both businesses to offer discounted match wear and a loyalty scheme to grassroots sports teams.

Pete: "We're trying our best to help [local teams] as much as we can. We said we would support the junior and amateur teams in Wigan and Northwest and it ties nicely in with us celebrating our 25th anniversary"

Our Director Mike Sharkey has been friends with Pete for over 35 years, both lend support and are involved in local rugby. Greenmount Projects have a number of ex-local rugby players and are strongly connected to Wigan St Patricks Amateur Rugby League Club, which makes this partnership even more special for us. Up the Pats!

The Very Group Competition

Following from the successful launch of the new office space and way of working, The Very Group held an internal competition to build excitement about their new office space.

Greenmount Projects donated the grand prize which consists of a lovely rocking chair and side table, and were also honoured to deliver the prize to the winner, Meriel Holmes and her adorable puppy Charlie. We were so honoured to be involved in this competition and were overjoyed to work with Meriel to help her choose the colours and fabric for the chair.

Cycling Competition

In encouraging more staff and students to cycle to work and their place of study, Wigan and Leigh College held a competition for one lucky person to win a brand new bicycle and kit bag.

Supporting Wigan and Leigh with this, Greenmount Projects donated the winning prize to the College, which was won by a fortunate student, Anthony.

Encouraging a happy and healthy community is high on our priority list and Greenmount were grateful to be apart of this competition.
