Wentworth House is a £2.3 million transformation project delivered for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, repurposing a former in-patient facility into a specialist step-down rehabilitation centre designed to support individuals transitioning from supported mental health care back into independent living. Completed over a 32-week programme, the project has created a high-quality environment that promotes recovery, independence and wellbeing while providing the Trust with a modern facility capable of meeting the evolving needs of its service users.

The project involved a comprehensive refurbishment across three floors, together with structural alterations, accessibility improvements, building services upgrades and extensive landscaping works.

The existing building was reconfigured to provide four self-contained apartments, each complete with en-suite facilities, creating a safe and comfortable setting for residents progressing towards independent living. Alongside the private accommodation, a range of internal and external communal spaces were developed to encourage social interaction, life-skills development and therapeutic engagement.

Additional works included the construction and fit-out of a new extension and kitchen facility, installation of a new lift, improvements to access arrangements and upgrades to mechanical and electrical services throughout the building.
